The Bridge Initiative is an Arizona nonprofit working to identify and empower female artists in the Southwest region, with the aim of gender parity across all theatrical disciplines.  The mission also includes bridging the gap between academia and the professional world, encouraging students to envision a clearer path to becoming lifelong artists.

We look forward to The Bridge Initiative events coming to TCA this fall.

The Revolutionists
Written by Lauren Gunderson
December 7 - 15, 2018

Literally anything can happen when you put the infamous French Queen Marie Antoinette, assassin Charlotte Corday, playwright Olympe de Gouge, and Caribbean spy Marianne Angelle in a room together. This irreverent comedy set during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror propels itself into modern times while standing up for one’s beliefs and who runs the world. Heads will roll when the women take the stage this December.

Lauren Gunderson is the most produced living playwright in America, the winner of the Lanford Wilson Award and the Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award, a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and John Gassner Award for Playwriting, and a recipient of the Mellon Foundation’s 3-Year Residency with Marin Theatre Co. She studied Southern Literature and Drama at Emory University, and Dramatic Writing at NYU’s Tisch School where she was a Reynolds Fellow in Social Entrepreneurship.
