Breaking Ground 2026
January 30 & 31, 2026
CONDER/dance presents Breaking Ground 2026, a festival celebrating 19 years of innovative contemporary dance. Featuring choreographers and performers from Arizona and across the nation, this year’s festival invites audiences to experience a dynamic range of works, from intimate solo pieces to expansive ensemble performances, each exploring the boundaries of movement and storytelling. Themes of identity, memory, and collective experience unfold across two evenings, offering audiences a window into the creative perspectives and vision of the artists involved.
This weekend is an invitation to engage with dance in new ways, whether you are a seasoned audience member or new to the art form. Breaking Ground 2026 also includes community classes in the TCA Lobby, master classes led by featured artists and post-performance discussions, providing the opportunity to engage directly with the creative process and the artistry behind each performance. Join us for Arizona’s most anticipated weekend of contemporary dance – a space for reflection, conversation, and the exploration of movement as a living art.
